And we put the refusals in writing: we will not write a training and assessment strategy for a cohort we have not discussed, and we will not supply a template as your evidence of context.

Our written rectification commitment: if a deliverable inside a fixed scope is found deficient against the Outcome Standards clauses it was scoped to address, we rework it at our own cost within ten working days of you telling us. We cannot guarantee a registration decision or a performance assessment outcome — ASQA decides. We cannot make you compliant: we build systems, you operate them. We will not write a training and assessment strategy for a cohort we have not discussed, and we will not supply a template as your evidence of context.

Case evidence

Every case we publish names its constraint — the thing we could not control or would not do.

The notice with 21 days on the clock

Problem
A 12-qualification metropolitan RTO received a non-compliance notice citing assessment tools under the Training and Assessment Quality Area, with 21 days to respond.
Fixed scope
Rectification response package: clause analysis, evidence matrix, rectification plan, one review round.
Fee
$3,800 published, $3,800 invoiced.
Outcome
Rectification evidence accepted; registration continued without conditions.
Constraint
We drafted the plan and the matrix; the RTO’s own trainers rewrote the tools. We do not manufacture evidence, and acceptance was ASQA’s decision, not ours.

Three qualifications onto scope, one invoice

Problem
A community services provider needed three related qualifications added to scope before a funding round, with contextualised resources for a work-placement cohort.
Fixed scope
Scope change band: first qualification plus two additional, each with a cohort-discussed training and assessment strategy and pre-use review of assessment tools.
Fee
$1,900 + (2 × $650) = $3,200.
Outcome
All three training products approved onto scope at first decision.
Constraint
Processing time was ASQA’s, not ours — the decision landed in week seven, and no consultant can compress or guarantee that timeline.

A self-assurance system the owner actually runs

Problem
An owner-operator RTO had passed its last performance assessment but had no systematic self-assurance: no registers, no monitoring calendar, findings living in one person’s inbox.
Fixed scope
Self-assurance system build: current-state review across the four Quality Areas, policy and register set, monitoring calendar, management reporting templates, handover briefing.
Fee
$6,900, delivered in 19 working days against a 20-day commitment.
Outcome
The system has been operated by the provider’s own team since handover; our 30-day question window closed with four questions asked.
Constraint
We built the system and left. We cannot make a provider compliant — compliance is in the operating, and the operating is theirs.
